UAE compliance tracker

The compliance tracker is a wall of countdown cards, one per government obligation. Each card shows the days remaining, the authority, the reference and the owner, and turns amber and then red as the deadline approaches so nothing expires unnoticed.

Open it from AI Work OS · UAE Compliance in the sidebar (the badge counts tracked items). The page title is Compliance countdowns, subtitle "Onus never lets a deadline slip - countdown tasks are created automatically for the owner". The primary button is Add item, which reads Close while the form is open. For the legal background of each obligation see UAE compliance.

Filters

All: every item.
Due ≤14d: red items only.
Renewal window: amber items only (15 to 45 days).
Healthy: green items (more than 45 days).

When a filter matches nothing the page shows "No items match this filter."

Reading a card

Title and the status badge.
The big number and days remaining.
{Authority} · Ref {reference}, for example "DED · Ref 612345".
Owner: {name} with an avatar: the person responsible for the renewal.
Mark renewed: sets the status to Renewed and resets the countdown to 365 days. The button disappears once used.
Create countdown task: confirms with a toast "Task created for {owner}".
FTA items whose title mentions VAT also show Open VAT 201 return, which opens the return in Accounting.

Add a compliance item

Click Add item
The New compliance item form opens above the KPIs.
Title (required)
Placeholder "e.g. Trade Licence". The form will not submit without it.
Authority
Choose DED, MOHRE, FTA, GDRFA, Dubai Municipality or Other. DED is preselected.
Reference no.
The licence, card or filing number, for example 612345. Optional; a blank reference is shown as a dash.
Owner
The person who will renew it, for example "Aisha Rahman". Optional; blank becomes Unassigned.
Days remaining
A whole number, minimum 0. Blank counts as 0 and the card starts red, so enter the real number of days to expiry.
Add item
The card appears first in the grid with the status that matches its days, and a toast confirms "Added "{title}"". Cancel clears the form and closes it.

Persistence and automation in this build

Items you add, renewals you mark and the countdown values are kept in this browser so the wall stays consistent across reloads while you evaluate the product. The automatic creation of countdown tasks for the owner, and the day-by-day decrement of the counters from a real expiry date, arrive with the compliance service in a later release; today Create countdown task confirms the action with a toast.

Seeded obligations

The demo workspace tracks six obligations that every mainland Dubai trading company deals with.

Owner Emirates ID	GDRFA	128	Khalid Al Falasi	The owner's residency identity card, tied to the residence visa issued through the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs. Renewed with the visa.
Office Tenancy (Ejari)	Dubai Land Dept	41	Aisha Rahman	The registered lease contract. A valid Ejari is a prerequisite for licence renewal and for the establishment card.
Corporate Tax Filing	FTA	203	Khalid Al Falasi	The annual corporate tax return, due within nine months of the financial year end. The 9 percent rate applies above the AED 375,000 threshold.

The Daily Brief with the AI synthesis mentioning the licence renewal and the Today across your business list — The Daily Brief names the licence renewal in the morning synthesis and links here with a day count.

Compliance elsewhere in the Work OS

The Daily Brief's AI synthesis mentions the nearest renewal and its "Today across your business" list links here with the days remaining (for example 21 days).
The Executive dashboard's Compliance KPI reports how many items are amber.
Reminders such as "Renew trade licence - DED" appear in Reminders and in the notifications bell as their due date nears.
The Ask AI seeded example answers a trade licence question with a compliance citation.

Set owners deliberately

Give every card a named owner rather than leaving it Unassigned. The owner is who the countdown task and the reminder will be addressed to, and it is the name an auditor will ask for. HR Managers see this module by default; see Roles and permissions.
