Connect your AI key
WorkOSync uses a bring-your-own-key model for its AI features. The app works fully without a key: notes, briefs and answers fall back to a deterministic Basic mode. Add your own provider key and the same features switch to AI mode, written by your chosen model and billed to you directly by the provider. Your key is stored encrypted on the server and is never shared.
AI-written meeting notes (summary, decisions and action items from a transcript), the AI narrative in the Daily Brief, and Ask AI, which answers questions about your business from your live data. Everything else in WorkOSync runs the same with or without a key.
Get a key from a provider
WorkOSync supports the major providers. Create an account, add billing, and generate an API key:

Connect it in WorkOSync
- Open Settings, AI and channels (System, Settings in the sidebar).
- Choose your provider and paste the API key you generated.
- Pick a model (a fast, low-cost model is fine to start).
- Save. The key is encrypted on the server; it is never shown again or sent to the browser.
- Open Meetings, the Daily Brief or Ask AI: the Basic-mode banner is gone and the AI pill shows the features are live.
You pay the provider directly for what you use, so you keep full control of spend and data. WorkOSync only forwards the specific prompt and the relevant business figures needed for each task, over your key. Remove or rotate the key any time in Settings to switch back to Basic mode.
